This is one of the coolest things we’ve seen: Artist Renick Woods has been doing these portraits of paddler’s vehicles and watercrafts. Bruce Denson, paddler, organizer of the Florida Cup brought Renick in to create these portraits in conjunction with the event.
“I always try to go a little extra on Florida Cup shirts. We’ve had some great artists over the years – Palehorse, John Sharks, Troy Nebeker, John Culqui – and I was looking for that next great idea when I came across Renick’s drawings and knew immediately that could be cool.
I had Renick do a few local paddlers that are coming to the Florida Cup and now he is going to do a few more for the shirt. So, here is the deal – Sign up for the Florida Cup and post a pic of your paddle rig on facebook or Instagram with #FloridaCup. Renick and I will pick a few more to add to the fleet.” —Bruce
