Time to go Paddle!
You might say this is the weekend that really kicks off the spring/summer paddling season in earnest.
First off, all across the country and in Canada and the Caribbean, teams of intrepid and caring paddlers will be on the water for 24 hours, starting tomorrow morning, raising money for local families that are dealing with cancer. It’s the Monster and Sea 24 and you can read more about it here. It is never too late to donate. And your contribution goes directly into the hands of the families- in a plain brown envelope, no middle man skimming off admin fees. Good luck to the 30-plus team paddling this weekend!
In Florida, it’s the Sharkbite Challenge – prelude to the Carolina Cup which goes off next week.
And in Wrightsville Beach this weekend, it’s the Sup Surf pro-am contest.
And it looks like Spring is finally making a consistent appearance in most places that have been plagued with late-season winter yuckiness.
Not only that but! We hear downwind conditions on our favorite island are ramping up – Maliko has been firing and the south side Kihei run has seen some epic days lately too! Great news with the Olukai Ho’olaule’a and Paddle Imua right around the corner. Maui No Ka Oi!
What are you doing this weekend? Let us know in the comments.
So where ever you are, what ever you paddle, get some water time this weekend.
Go because you can!
