The body of missing Miami Paddle Boarder Andres Pombo was found yesterday in the Columbia River according to the Hood River County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the Oregonian:
According to witnesses and video recovered from his board, Pombo was mid-channel near an area of the river known as Swell City when strong winds and current caused him to fall in, the sheriff’s office said.
A kiteboarder saw Pombo fall into the river but soon lost sight of him in the water, according to the sheriff’s office. Pombo was not wearing a flotation device or lanyard. A large search effort was begun but did not locate him.
His remains were recovered just downriver from where he was last seen.
This has been such a sad and stressful week for so many. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Andres family and friends. Please take the time to donate to the family.
