Maui Jim's Maui 2 Molokai Challenge

Maui Jim’s Maui 2 Molokai Challenge

It was a stellar weekend of racing this weekend in the waters off Maui and Molokai. Saturday, paddlers took to the Pailolo Channel and  competed in the 26-mile long Maui Jim’s Maui 2 Molokai Challenge.  Australia’s James Casey won the overall men’s winner with a time of 3:19:09, with Marcus Tardrew and Kody Kerbox coming in second and third.

On the women’s side, New Zealand’s Annabel Anderson won the overall with a time of 3:39:05, with Andrea Moeller and Lisette Prado coming in second and third. Results online here.

Foil history was again made in Hawaiian waters as Zane Schweitzer become the first paddler to cross the channel on a foil in competition. He completed the race in 3:32:12.

The classics downwind run was followed on Sunday by the Molokai 4 Molokai race down the coastline of Molokai. Casey and Anderson won that competition as well.  Full results here.
