Great Whites in SoCal

Honestly, not sure what would be more startling, seeing so many great white sharks while paddleboarding, or being “hailed” from above by someone in a helicopter….kind of like when you’re riding your bike and a motorist honks his horn at you as he passes.  As ocean paddlers, we know sharks are always there, but it seems like there has been an increase in sighting of juvenile GSW’s off Southern California beaches.  No one was hurt on the day these 15 were spotted hanging out, and experts aren’t sure if the congregation is the result of warmer ocean temperatures or simply the fact that there are more folks with phones, cameras and drones out and about and able to capture the occurrence and share it on social media.
