$60, Limited to 30 paddlers, Friday , April 21, from 1-5

The Friends of Wrightsville Beach Ocean Rescue are seeking anyone that it is interested in learning CPR and Drowning Resuscitation. It is a common feeling amongst our fellow citizens to feel helpless to act during an emergency because they do not know how to administer CPR or they are afraid of hurting the victim. As the bystander, you the citizen, are often a critical link in the chain of survival for that emergency. Being able to recognize the emergency, knowing who to call, and having the confidence to act can make a difference in that person’s life!

As active members in the community, you are often the first person on scene therefore starting that ‘chain of survival.’ As first responders, our lifeguards and firefighters are accustomed to responding to emergencies. Understanding the importance of the educated bystander, we teach CPR courses to our community members each year. We would like to extend that invitation to those of you visiting our community. So take the course, educate yourself, and take your knowledge back to your community to share.

Friends of Wrightsville Beach Ocean Rescue is an affiliated non-profit through the Wrightsville Beach Volunteer Firefighters Association (501 3c). Our CPR instructors are certified through the American Heart Association. Cost for the class is $60 and will take 4 hours to complete. Each class is limited to 30 people.

Class location will be at the Wrightsville Beach Fire Department, 3 Bob Sawyer Drive Wrightsville Beach, NC
