The 16th Annual Jay Moriarity Memorial Paddleboard Race is Northern California’s premiere paddleboard event. This one-day paddleboard competition is held on the picturesque Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary in honor of legendary surfer and paddler, Jay Moriarity.
We gather to remember Jay and paddle our hearts out in his honor! All proceeds benefit the Jay Moriarity Foundation to raise funds for Angel Warriors for Kids, Junior Lifeguard Programs as well as other ocean related beneficiaries including Ocean of Hope. Participants receive a goodie bag, t-shirt, race jersey (long course only), Peet’s coffee, Clif Bars and other swag.

Kids paddle around the course just a few yards from the beach. After the paddle course, competitors will run through the beach obstacle course while being squirted with “Super Soakers” then back out onto the water for another lap. Kids collect “Live Like Jay” wristbands every time they finish the obstacle course. Mini Jay Racers will receive one raffle ticket for every bracelet they collect!
