Where you were born and where you live now?

Born, raised and live in Tel-Aviv, Israel.

What is your occupation?

Paddling Guru at Motionize (A Motionize device attached to a paddle tracks stroke rate, distance speed, and other paddling metrics.)

Where do you SUP the most?

I usually paddle a ski, on the Mediterranean coast of Tel-Aviv, or on our small river.

Do you have a favorite local paddleboard shop?

Captain Jack, the local Epic dealer

What paddleboard, surfski or OC do you ride most?

Epic V10

Do you own any other paddleboards, surfskis or OCs and what kind?

I some time paddle on a 12’6″ Tower SUP

What paddle do you use?

QB Smartpaddle powered by Motionize

Have you changed boards/paddles/equipment since you started? If so, why?

I changed many kayaks, that’s my only SUP.

If you could travel to anywhere in the world to paddle, where would you go?

I’d like to go back to Tarrifa, Spain again with my paddling buddies form the club.

Best piece of paddling advice you’ve ever received?

Listen to Jimmy Terrell, smartest guy on a SUP.

Weirdest thing that’s happened to you while paddling?

Back in my racing days, I totaled a brand new K1 and paddled onto a rock . The thing is, it was on the calmest lake!

Favorite nutrition? (During races/ during a long haul)

Air – don’t do drinks/ food while paddling. Sometimes water.

Goals for this next year?

Spending more time in the boat.

Favorite post-paddle nosh (snack/beer/recovery drink)

Humus!

Your favorite non-paddle thing to do.

Nothing, except my family, spending time in the club or in the boat is my absolute favorite.

What piece of SUP gear do you wish someone would invent?

I was lucky enough to be part of the development team of Motionize, I think we did pretty awesome!

What’s your biggest challenge with paddling?

In the sup  – going straight 🙂 We don’t have this problem on the ski.

What is your proudest moment in a SUP race or event?

Reaching the Olympic final back in the day, was pretty awesome. (Roei competed in the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney and the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, he earned his best finish of ninth in the K-1 1000 m event at Athens.)

Tell us about the best friend(s) you made through paddling.

I’m lucky enough to travel all over the world for paddling for the last 20 years. It always exciting to meet passionate paddlers form different countries.

 What was your best SUP travel trip?

South Africa with Rob Mousley.
